Mother's Day Gift sets

Last time I was still pondering what to give my mum for Mother's Day, now I have got some ideas! If I were having difficulties to choose just one product to give her, why not choose a gift set which contain moisturizer (day & night), eye cream, serum...etc.?! This could save a lot of hassle for me! I am choosing between the below 3, which one will you choose?

Check out the gifts!

What could be better than this photo to illustrate the concept of COSME-DE.COM? Haha! (Not that the customers are dogs... :P) A cute little flower with a butterfly, how sweet!

I think this doggie also need some skincare and shaving too!

Sesame Seeds 2

Last time I wrote about the nutrition values of sesame seeds (Sesame seeds make you healthier and prettier), but I didn't suggest ways to eat them, and I do think it's odd to eat them just like that...Thus, I did a small search online, and I found this on the net (mainly Wiki):

  1. Breads, including bagels and the tops of hamburger buns.

  2. Baked into crackers, often in the form of sticks.

  3. Sprinkled onto some sushi style foods.

  4. Whole seeds are found in many salads and baked snacks as well in Japan.

  5. Tan and black sesame seed varieties are roasted and used for making the flavoring gomashio.

  6. In Greece seeds are used in cakes, while in Togo, seeds are a main soup ingredient.

  7. The seeds are also eaten on bread in Sicily and France (called "ficelle sésame", sesame thread).

  8. Sesame (benne) seed cookies and wafers.

  9. East Asian cuisines, like Chinese cuisine use sesame seeds and oil in some dishes, such as dim sum, sesame seed balls (traditional Chinese: ; pinyin: mátuǎn or 煎堆; Cantonese: jin deui).

  10. A Hong Kong snack called "Cheong Fun", and it looks like this: (very yummy!) Lots of sesame seeds sprinkled on top!

So just take your pick, live a healthy life!

Mother looks like my sister

My parents look much younger than they actually are, and I look 90% like my mum, a blessing because she's pretty! :D Haha! She has beautiful eyes, nice sharp nose and wonderfully smooth skin. and most important of all, she's a caring mother. She's always the one I get annoyed by, yes, all those "put your coat on, it's cold outside.", "go to bed early."...but without these annoying reminders, I guess I won't be as happy and healthy as I am today! So I think she really deserves a gift on the coming Mother's Day...but what to get?

  • Eye cream?
  • Lipstick?
  • Face moisturizer?
  • Hair treatment products?

Um...I need to start thinking seriously before it's too late!

What about you? What will you get for your mum?

New Discovery about Night Cream

We should use night cream every evening, right? To moisturize our skin cos the evening is when the skin absorbs most and recovering and all that, right? Well, I just discovered a completely different theory about it from Dr. Hauschka. There are "7 facts that will change your skin". And that was the 1st fact which I just mentioned.

Let's see what it says:

Skip the night cream; your skin will thank you. While you sleep your skin is actually hard at work regenerating itself, balancing oil production and expelling impurities. Regular application of night creams interferes with these essential tasks, and over time skin becomes less able to care for itself. Covering the skin with moisturizer 24 hours a day sends a signal to sebaceous glands to cut down on moisture production, resulting in even drier skin that becomes dependent on moisturizing products just to appear “normal.”

A Dr. Hauschka regimen allows the skin to carry on its important night work. Balanced healthy skin needs nothing more than cleansing and toning before bed. Dr. Hauschka Rhythmic Night Conditioner is a water-based formula infused with rose essential oil and dynamic plant extracts that supports renewal and balances oil production. Use it for 28 days, mirroring and supporting the skin's natural cycle of regeneration to encourage a return to a healthy, balanced complexion.

Well, it does sound very logical, isn't it? I do always think that too much caring to the skin would "spoil" it, so I refrain to go to facial too often (in fact, I haven't been to one for FAR toooo loing time... :P). But skipping the night cream sounds a bit risky...

What about you? What's your usual evening skincare regimen? And will you skip your night cream and try out the Rhythmic Night Conditioner?

Kate Kate Kate!

Hudson in Balmain following the U.K. premiere
of her latest film Fool's Gold.

Don't you just adore Kate Hudson? Ever since I watched her movie "Almost Famous" in which she was Penny Lane - a girl who tries to justify her existence and explain her values, i started to notice this charming actress. She played it well, a girl who seemed to be care-free but has a complicated inside world. I like her style in the movie, chic and casual.

And then the next one I saw her in was "How to lose a guy in ten days", a typical girlie movie which you have to force your boyfriend to watch with you. :) Although the story started out to be a game, but it's touching at the end. The best quotes from it:

Andie: Unattached?
Ben: Currently.

Andie: Likewise.
Ben: Surprising.
Andie: Psycho?
Ben: Rarely, Interested?
Andie: Perhaps.
Ben: Hungry?
Andie: Starving.
Ben: Leaving?
Andie: Now?

I just like her style - a mom who is natural and pretty and has the sweetest smile! She almost beats my Natalie Portman, almost. :)

Now the golden screen couple are together again in the new movie Fool's Gold, I am not sure if i would have time to watch it among my assignment and quizzes. Are you going to watch it?

Sesame seeds make you healthier and prettier

Have you ever thought of the nutritious value of sesame seeds? They are rich in calcium (exactly what we need to build up strong bones!). Women start losing calcium in their body at age of 25 (according to my physiotherapist), and that's one of the causes for osteoporosis. So it's important to absorb as much as you can for the losing process. Hi-calcium milk is always my favourite! And I have just discovered Sesame seeds are also a good choice!

Here is a description I found on Wiki:

The seeds are rich in manganese, copper, and calcium (90 mg per tablespoon for unhulled seeds, 10 mg for hulled), and contain vitamin B1 (thiamine) and vitamin E (tocopherol). They contain lignans, including unique content of sesamin, which are phytoestrogens with antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. Among edible oils from six plants, sesame oil had the highest antioxidant content. Sesame seeds also contain phytosterols associated with reduced levels of blood cholesterol, but do not contain caffeine. The nutrients of sesame seeds are better absorbed if they are ground or pulverized before consumption.Women of ancient Babylon would eat halva, a mixture of honey and sesame seeds to prolong youth and beauty, while Roman soldiers ate the mixture for strength and energy.

While sesame seeds are generally considered nutritious, they produce one of the uncommon food allergies, 5-13 per 100,000.

Clinique Happy

Smell is one of the things that can really trigger memory and I guess that's the reason for people spraying fragrance. They want a signature of themselves, something that differentiates them from other people, something for people to remember.

For me, it's simpler, I just want to make myself feel good! When I recieved my first fragrance set from Clinique, the "Clinique Happy" really made me very happy, I don't know why, I just love the smell of it. Let's be HAPPY together!

Here is the original Clinique Happy product description:

Clinique Happy is a sparkling floral fragrance which arouses a state of complete happiness with a unique blend of vibrancy, clarity, and feminine sensuality. What you smell is a hint of citrus and a wealth of flowers.

Get rid of the tired dull skin

I had a couple of late nights recently and they made my face look so dull...Luckily, I got this Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture SPF to help me. It is a bit shimmer, not too obvious, but can sort of magically make your face glows.

It's not greasy with SPF 15 to protect your skin from the sun and it's best for hiding the tired dull face if you don't want heavy make-up. It's 40ml in size and you can use it for quite a long time!

Here is the original product description:
